It may be hard to compete with songs such as ‘Iris,’ but ‘So Alive’ is a good contender. ‘So Alive’ reminds us why we fell in love with the Goo Goo Dolls. One of the hidden gems of the album is ‘So Alive.’ The subtle piano in the background adds an emotional vibe and makes it a repeat worthy song. The catchy lyrics will have you tapping your foot, or singing along in the shower.
The line, “old enough to know, young enough to live again,” gives us the idea that it’s never too late to leave everything and start anew. The lyrics are about someone that has learned from their mistakes and has to start their life over again. The first song on the album is ‘Over and Over,’ which gives us an upbeat tempo. Boxes reminds us why the Goo Goo Dolls have sold over 12 million albums and continue to bring screaming fans to concerts. They brought us the catchy anthemic pop rock tunes we love to belt out in unison with our friends, like ‘Iris’ and ‘Slide.’ The band released Magnetic in 2013, but the album left fans wanting more. The much loved Goo Goo Dolls are back with their new album, Boxes.
